and pervert? ME?! i find toe-sucking most repulsive. don't believe me, ask dax. those toe licking scenes from Sasayaki(moonlight whispers) totally put me off. like, major eeeew!

watched the magdelene sisters on friday night with my fat 'ho. it was a tough movie to watch, in part because it held so many truths, so many what-ifs and could-bes that we unknowingly shut our eyes and hearts to. it was also one of the harshest critiques i've ever read/seen of the catholic church and its ideologies/institutions. its so scary how so many societal structures can affirm the power of the church, and stifle the voices of dissent - of those who simply do not and can not belong in the system, leaving no room for alternatives. pretty darn scary. am hella glad i'm not living in ireland in the 60s.
